The DJI OM5 succeeds the already impressive DJI OM4. Just when you think there is not much that can be improved upon, DJI shows us that there’s always something they can do better. The new DJI OM5 comes with some new features that will basically make this the most well-rounded gimbal you can use for your smartphone. Let’s take a closer look.

The DJI OM5 promises to deliver better and smoother image stabilization than before thanks to stronger motors to handle dynamic movements and larger smartphones as well as improved algorithms.

The overall design of the OM5 has been improved as well, making the device more ergonomical with a higher quality fit and finish that includes durable, metal joints. The OM5 folds and packs away easily, but it also features a built-in 215mm extension rod for more creative shooting options. The DJI OM5 comes in two different colors, Sunset White and Athens Gray.

The DJI OM5 comes with ShotGuides to help you create the perfect photo or video. ShotGuides automatically recognizes the scene (park, beach, city, lifestyle, food, home) and recommends helpful shooting tips, and offers creative templates. This feature will help even first-time users to achieve impressive results right away.

The DJI OM5 now comes with ActiveTrack 4.0 for improved responsiveness and advanced recognition. The device offers a new automatic face tracking feature while in selfie mode so that you can focus on your delivery while the OM5 keeps you centered and in focus. ActiveTrack 4.0 also works for tracking your pets.

The DJI OM5 enables you to take amazing panoramas by stitching nine shots together. Another cool feature is the CloneMe Pano where you can position yourself in various spots in one panorama photo. Neat.

The DJI OM5 comes with a magnetic clamp for your smartphone. Additionally, you can buy a clamp that has built-in LED lights, called the DJI OM Fill Light Phone Clamp for $59, so that you can evenly light your face while taking selfies or vlogging. A screw-on tripod is included.

The DJI OM5 will last you over six hours on a fully charged battery and can be recharged in 1.5 hours.
