DJI rumor hints at possible launch of DJI Mavic 3s in first half of 2023

A rumor that was shared by a reliable source of on Twitter indicates that in the first half of 2023, the Chinese drone maker would introduce the DJI Mavic 3s. Development of this new DJI drone has allegedly already started.

The DJI Mavic 3s would feature an upgraded 1-inch CMOS sensor for the second telephoto camera. In addition, the video transmission system would be upgraded to O4, and 4G cellular connectivity would become standard.

Please take this information with a grain of salt as 2023 is still far away and DJI might very well change their plans or have different plans altogether. Also, predicting that DJI will launch a drone in 2023 with an O4 transmission system seems likely indeed. Just like we expect Apple to launch a new iPhone every fall.

Anyways, the takeaway here is that DJI might very well upgrade the second lens and camera and make the Mavic 3s more capable. This would be a good move as the current second camera is not much more than a gimmick.

What do you think about a possible DJI Mavic 3s and what improvements would you like to see over the current Mavic 3? Let us know in the comments below.

  1. While improvement for second camer would be very good, fitting 1″ sensor with its optics while keeping weight under 900 grams would be definitely very hard.
Also first half 23 release would sound quite fast schedule for this kind of change.
