YouTuber Darren from DM Productions just posted two DJI Mini 3 Pro first impressions videos on YouTube. The first one is an unboxing of the DJI Mini 3 Pro, and the second video is the DJI mini drone’s first impressions and flight. Let’s check it out!

Update 5/7/22: Darren just provided detailed info on the DJI RC. See here for all the details.

Update 5/8/22: DJI Mini 3 Pro low-light performance during a nighttime flight.

Darren is one of the lucky drone pilots who has the DJI Mini 3 Pro in combination with the new DJI remote Controller with a built-in display.

According to Darren, the DJI Mini 3 Pro has better low-light performance than other DJI drones. This is a very interesting comment that he, unfortunately, didn’t elaborate on. Is the low-light performance better than the DJI Air 2S? Maybe. Better than the DJI Mavic 3? That seems unlikely.

We’re curious to learn more about the low-light capabilities of the DJI Mini 3 Pro.

It took about ten seconds to get a satellite lock on the DJI Mini 3 Pro, which I’m sure comes as a big relief after the issues pilots have had with the DJI Mavic 3.

Some features such as tracking and QuickShots were not yet available, but Darren expects those to be ready through a firmware update at the time of the launch on May 10th.

Wondering if the Mini 3 Pro has and adjustable aperture or is it fixed? Also, does drone aperture affect background blur like a regular camera?

    • just guessing here since nothing is confirmed and no good trustworthy leaks specific to this I could find im going to guess probably not a physical one. Maybe virtual, that’s increasingly possible to emulate the effects using Computational photography on lesser hardware.

As much as I love my mavic 2 pro, I wish they could package it all into a mini platform and looks like that’s exactly what dji is trying to do. Let’s hope they give us digital zoom at-least and don’t artificially leave that out like they did on the mavic 2 pro.
