News, deep dives, and analysis — every DJI Air 2S story, newest first.
The DJI Air 2S is remembered for one thing: it put a one-inch sensor in a mid-range folding drone and priced it where nobody expected. That reset what buyers thought a mid-range drone should deliver, and it is still the reason the airframe holds value second-hand.
What has moved on since is everything around the sensor — transmission, obstacle sensing, battery life — which is what the Air 3 and Air 3S brought. If you are buying new, that is where to look. If you are buying on price, the 2S is a lot of image quality for the money, with the usual second-hand caveats about battery health.
One practical note that catches new buyers: the Air 2S is above 250 grams, so US recreational pilots must register it. That threshold is why so many buyers end up in the Mini line instead, and our drones under 250g guide explains what the rule actually requires.
