A new version of the DJI Fly app has been made available by the world’s largest drone maker, DJI. The new DJI Fly app version v1.6.8 primarily benefits pilots who fly the DJI Mini 3 Pro.

The Fly App is currently the primary operating system for all of DJI’s prosumer and consumer-oriented drones. It works with the recently released DJI Mini 3 Pro and the Mavic 3, the DJI Air 2S and Mavic Air 2 as well as their predecessors, the DJI Mini 2 and DJI Mavic Mini.

The latest update for the DJI Fly app comes with version number v1.6.8 and supersedes the recently published version v1.6.6 that was issued in the middle of June 2022.

In contrast to the previous version, which primarily catered to users in Japan owing to the new Remote ID restrictions that took effect in that country, the most recent update adds additional features that are applicable to users all around the world.

DJI Fly app adds new portrait mode features for the DJI Mini 3 Pro

The first and probably most significant update is that the portrait mode (vertical mode) of the DJI Mini 3 Pro now supports FocusTrack, QuickShots (Dronie, Rocket, Circle, Helix, and Boomerang), and Hyperlapse.

For the purpose of shooting moving timelapse photos, the Hyperlapse mode now has a brand new interval of 2 seconds accessible.

When the DJI Mini 3 Pro is connected to a computer, a new USB mode has been included that helps preserve the life of the battery (Go to Camera View > Settings > Camera to enable this mode).

The DJI Mini drone will enter into a power-saving mode while allowing you to transmit the files.

In the Fly App version 1.6.8, the general location of the remote control may now also be centered in the compass view.

The DJI Fly app was further improved by fixing certain issues and optimizing the overall app quality.

Make sure that both your drone and the remote controller are updated to the latest firmware updates so that you can use the above-mentioned improvements and features.
