DJI Mavic 3 Classic shows up at Best Buy ahead of launch!
You have to give it to them. Best Buy did it again. The DJI Mavic 3 Classic shows up at the retail store ahead of the expected launch.
Over the last couple of years, we have seen numerous DJI products show up at the national retail chain ahead of their launch. At times, unsuspecting Best Buy employees even sold DJI products that had yet to be released.
You could say that it is a classic Best Buy move. And the store didn't disappoint this time either. Thanks, Güçlü Atamer!
The front of the box shows the DJI Mavic 3 Classic with only one camera and the DJI RC remote controller.
Separately, Jasper Ellens shared the expected prices for the DJI Mavic 3 Classic in Europe. Now while those numbers do not directly translate into USD, they do give us a good indication of where the new DJI camera drone will fit in.
According to his information, the prices in euros are as follows:
- DJI Mavic 3 Classic + DJI RC is 1,749 EUR
- DJI Mavic 3 Classic + DJI RC-N1 is 1,599 EUR
- DJI Mavic 3 Classic is1,449 EUR
- ND filter set 8/16/32/64 120 EUR

Hey Hiya, Love your site, love the PIXL Drone Show, appreciate everything you’ve done for the drone community. I’m an early purchaser of the Mavic 3 and wondering just how bad my buyer’s remorse needs to be. I’m VERY disappointed that DJI promised an SDK for Mavic 3 when it came out, it would just take a year. A year later, the SDK doesn’t seem like a reality. Some questions/thoughts for you:
1) Do you think there’s a way for Mavic Original (and Cine) owners can make enough noise with DJI to get an SDK? I can’t imagine it would be very different from the M3E’s SDK.
2) Do you know if there will be an SDK for the Mavic Classic?
3) Do you know if the Mavic Original’s controller is interchangeable with the Mavic Classic’s controller?
I don’t know if you agree, but DJI’s approach to the entire Mavic 3 line has me looking away from DJI. With my P4PV2.0, I had a mechanical shutter, Litchi, DroneDeploy, etc. Mavic 3 added a great camera and the ability to do some pretty neat video shots, but it took away the mechanical shutter and the SDK. And the M3E gives me back the mechanical shutter and SDK, but loses some of the neat video shots.
Besides my questions above, do you have any recommendation for a <$5K drone that has as good a camera as the M3, a mechanical shutter, and SDK support (Litchi, DroneDeploy, etc.)?
Thanks for spending the time with my rant, and again, thanks for all you do for our community.
