Today in the United States, drone enthusiasts, industry stakeholders, and users alike have united to establish the Drone Advocacy Alliance. This newly formed coalition is on a mission to safeguard the rights of American drone users, ensuring they can freely choose and employ their drones.

As of late, lawmakers on both state and federal levels have been contemplating bills that might limit access to specific drones, based on their country of manufacture.

The Drone Advocacy Alliance warns, “These proposals threaten to upend the American drone ecosystem,” affecting a broad range of individuals and businesses.

From everyday consumers to small businesses leveraging drones across various industries, researchers, and public safety agencies, these restrictions could have widespread repercussions.

The Alliance is launching a website to serve as a rallying point for those affected. This platform will offer tools for drone users and other stakeholders to communicate directly with their representatives about the potential impacts of the proposed legislation.

It will also give users a platform to endorse policies that promote innovation without jeopardizing American jobs or livelihoods.

The Drone Advocacy Alliance’s mission is to work with industry stakeholders and legislators to create an open, safe and honest U.S. drone marketplace that will enable end-users to pick the right tools for their operational needs and help bolster the U.S. industry. We believe that drones provide incalculable benefits to society and that users should be able to select the best options for their unique needs.

The Alliance is composed of a diverse array of drone industry stakeholders, including DJI, Dronelink, DroneSense, the Drone Service Providers Alliance (DSPA), Blue Nose Aerial Imaging, the Pilot Institute, and the Uncrewed Trade Alliance.
