Another day, another leak. This morning, Igor Bogdanov from Quadro_News surprised us with a new Italian leak. Now granted, my Italian is worse than rusty, but it is not hard to figure out what the five main reasons are to upgrade from the DJI Mini 3 or even the DJI Mini 3 Pro, to the ‘rumored-to-be-released-on-September-25th’ DJI Mini 4 Pro drone. The latest unmanned aircraft in the Chinese drone maker’s popular mini-series.
1: Increased Video Resolution
The DJI Mini 4 Pro will feature 4K/60fps HDR video recording capabilities. This is up from 4K/30fps HDR for the DJI Mini 3 Pro and the DJI Mini 3. The table incorrectly shows that the DJI Mini 3 records 4K/60fps in HDR.
2: Better Slow-Motion
The DJI Mini 4 Pro records slow-motion footage at 4K/100fps. This is up from 1080p/120fps for the DJI Mini 3 Pro and no slow motion at all for the DJI Mini 3.
3: More Colors
The DJI Mini 4 Pro records in D-Log M at 10-bit, HLG versus only D-Cinelike for the DJI Mini 3 Pro and no such option for the DJI Mini 3.
4: Higher Quality Video Transmission
The DJI Mini 4 Pro comes with DJI’s latest OcuSync 4 or O4 HD video transmission system. This offers a range of up to 20km at 1080p/60fps. The Mini 3 Pro came with OcuSync 3 (12km, 1080p/30fps), and the DJI Mini 3 features OcuSync 2 (10km, 720p/30fps).
5: Omnidirectional Obstacle Avoidance
The DJI Mini 4 Pro offers omnidirectional obstacle avoidance that will likely rival the DJI Air 3. The DJI Mini 3 Pro only had forward, backward, and downward sensors. The DJI Mini 3 only had downward sensors.
More features of the DJI Mini 4 Pro
The last image that was leaked in ‘The Italian Job’ provides even more information. The DJI Mini 4 Pro will feature 360-degree ActiveTrack, 34-minute flight time, a mode for night shooting, 1.07 billion colors, and an Advanced Return-To-Home feature.
