A leaked video has surfaced, providing a detailed look at the upcoming DJI Avata 2 drone and the DJI FPV Remote Controller 3. The video, shared by DealsDrone, offers a glimpse into the design and features of DJI’s latest offerings in the world of first-person view (FPV) drones.
Streamlined Design and Improved Flight Characteristics
The DJI Avata 2 drone showcases a more streamlined and less bulky design compared to its predecessor. This sleek new look suggests potential improvements in flight times and overall flight behavior. The drone’s compact form factor is expected to enhance its maneuverability and agility in the air.
Camera and Stabilization
At the front of the DJI Avata 2, a camera is visible, protected by orange-colored bumpers on both sides. The camera appears to lack a traditional gimbal, instead relying on an up-and-down movement mechanism to maintain a level view during flight. This would be in line with the design of the original DJI Avata, and, of course, this design makes the camera less likely to incur damage in case of a crash. This design choice indicates that DJI will likely employ their RockSteady image stabilization technology to ensure smooth and stable footage.
Enclosed Propellers and Obstacle Avoidance Sensors
The DJI Avata 2 features four three-blade propellers that are enclosed within the drone’s frame. This protective design not only shields the propellers from damage but also allows for safer indoor flights. The enclosure adds to the drone’s overall sturdiness, making it more resilient to mild crashes and abuse.
On the rear of the drone, the letters “AVATA 2” are clearly visible, along with what appear to be rear-facing obstacle avoidance sensors. Additional sensors can be spotted on the bottom of the drone, likely aiding in precision landing and obstacle avoidance during flight.
DJI Avata 2 Battery and Accessories
In line with modern DJI drones, the batteries of the DJI Avata 2 seem to slide in from the back, providing easy access for quick battery swaps.
A separate shot in the video seems to reveal the contents of a potential DJI Avata 2 Fly More Combo, which includes additional batteries, a charger, the DJI FPV Remote Controller 3, a new DJI Motions 3 remote controller, the DJI Avata 2 drone itself, the new DJI Goggles 3, and various accessories.
DJI FPV Remote Controller 3
The leaked video also provides a clear shot of the box for the DJI FPV Remote Controller 3, suggesting that it may be sold separately from the drone. This new controller is expected to offer enhanced functionality and compatibility with the DJI Avata 2.
The leaked video of the DJI Avata 2 drone and its accessories has generated excitement among drone enthusiasts and FPV pilots. With its streamlined design, improved flight characteristics, and advanced features like obstacle avoidance sensors, the DJI Avata 2 promises to be a significant upgrade from its predecessor.
As DJI continues to push the boundaries of FPV drone technology, the Avata 2 is poised to become a favorite among hobbyists and professionals alike. Based on the latest rumors we expect the DJI Avata 2 to be released on or around April 11th.
