Man Accused of Using Drone to Drop Explosives in Maine Town

A Woodland, Maine resident has been arrested for allegedly using a drone to drop explosive devices on targets in the small Aroostook County town. The case highlights the potential misuse of drone technology for criminal activities.
Drone-Assisted Attacks Over 18 Months
Joshua Brydon, 37, was arrested by Maine State Police on October 12 following an 18-month investigation into several incidents involving improvised explosive devices (IEDs) in Woodland.
Authorities allege that Brydon employed a drone to drop some of the explosive devices, while others were reportedly thrown or placed by hand. The attacks appeared to target specific individuals in the community.
Multiple Serious Charges
Brydon faces a slew of charges related to the alleged attacks:
- Five counts of arson
- One count of attempted arson
- Six counts of criminal use of explosives
- Two counts of stalking
- One count of endangering the welfare of a child
He’s currently being held at the Aroostook County Jail in Houlton.
