Trusted drone industry insider Jasper Ellens has revealed potential European pricing for DJI’s upcoming DJI Flip drone, with three distinct configurations ranging from €439 to €779 ($478 to $849).

Base Model and Configuration Options

According to the leaked information, the standalone DJI Flip drone will retail for €439 ($478) without a remote controller. A mid-tier package including the RC2 controller will be priced at €639 ($696), while the premium Fly More Combo, featuring the remote controller, spare batteries, and a carrying case, will cost €779 ($849).

Typically, US prices are more competitive than European prices and do not include sales tax. Expect, the US prices to be probably close to if not the same as the EU prices, so for instance $449 for the base DJI Flip.

Technical Details Emerge

In a separate post, Ellens shared specifications from an apparent Amazon Mexico listing, indicating the DJI Flip will weigh 249 grams (0.55 pounds). This strategic weight positions the drone just under the FAA’s 250-gram threshold for registration requirements in many jurisdictions.

The leaked product dimensions suggest a compact form factor of 30 x 30 x 8 centimeters (11.8 x 11.8 x 3.1 inches), indicating DJI’s focus on portability. The drone will reportedly be compatible with DJI’s RC 2 controller, suggesting integration with the company’s established control ecosystem.

Market Positioning

These price points position the DJI Flip between the company’s Mini 3 series and more advanced models, potentially filling a strategic gap in DJI’s consumer drone lineup. The pricing structure appears designed to offer flexibility for different user needs, from smartphone-based control to full-featured operation with dedicated hardware.

While the information comes from a typically reliable source, it’s worth noting that final pricing and specifications may vary when the product officially launches. The drone industry will be watching closely to see how this new addition impacts DJI’s market strategy and consumer drone offerings.

Currently, we have no information on when the DJI Flip may make it’s way to the US market. However, we do expect it to be soon, well before the automatic DJI Ban kicks in.
