DJI Avata 360 Price Leak: Cheap in China, Emotional Damage in the US

UPDATE: This article has been updated and changed the main image.

DJI has done it again. Not officially. Not loudly. But quietly, accidentally, and very on brand.

Thanks to a leaked pricing table from DJI China retail stores, we now have what looks like the final pricing for the DJI Avata 360, and unless DJI suddenly decides to gaslight the entire internet, the official announcement is right around the corner.

So yes, the numbers are real. Yes, they are spicy. And yes, US buyers should already be stretching before pulling out their wallets.

Letโ€™s break it all down, laugh a little, and then sigh deeply together.

DJI Avata 360 China Pricing Revealed

The leaked pricing confirms all bundles, and more importantly, confirms something big. The DJI Avata 360 is a green flag model. It already cleared FCC registration before December 23, 2025, meaning it is fully cleared for sale in the United States.

Translation: this drone is not stuck in regulatory purgatory. It is packing its bags.

Here is what Chinese buyers get, and yes, this is where the jealousy starts.

Base Drone Only
ยฅ2,988 CNY which is about $426 USD
Drone plus charger. No controller. Perfect for FPV tinkerers who enjoy living slightly on the edge.

Standard Combo with DJI RC 2
ยฅ3,988 CNY which is about $569 USD
Adds the Motion Controller 3 so you can actually fly the thing without improvising.

Fly More Combo
ยฅ5,688 CNY which is about $811 USD
Extra batteries, props, charging hub, bag, and the comforting illusion of savings at roughly 20 percent.

DJI Care Refresh
Starts at ยฅ398 which is about $57
Because gravity still exists and DJI knows you.

These prices line up perfectly with earlier Weibo leaks, which is usually DJIโ€™s way of saying โ€œoopsโ€ without actually saying it.

For Chinese buyers, this pricing is aggressive. For US buyers, this is where the ominous music starts.

US Pricing Estimates: Prepare Your Wallet Emotionally

There is no official DJI Avata 360 pricing on the US store yet, but DJIโ€™s past behavior is as predictable as a low battery warning at the worst possible moment.

Using the current exchange rate of 1 CNY to $0.1427 USD, the direct conversion looks reasonable. But this is DJI, and history tells us to expect a 15 to 40 percent premium once tariffs, certifications, logistics, and retail margins pile on like uninvited guests.

Here is the realistic expectation.

Base Drone
China equivalent: $426
Estimated US price: $489
Pain level: manageable

Standard Combo
China equivalent: $569
Estimated US price: $680
Pain level: noticeable

Fly More Combo
China equivalent: $811
Estimated US price: $999
Pain level: classic DJI

Yes, the Fly More Combo landing at $999 feels inevitable. It matches the Avata 2 launch price almost too perfectly, like DJI enjoys round numbers and mild suffering.

Is the DJI Avata 360 Actually Worth It?

Here is the inconvenient truth. Probably yes.

The Avata 360 is FCC approved, under 250 grams, and brings true spherical 360 capture into an FPV platform. That alone puts it in a very small club.

It leapfrogs the Avata 2 with full 360 freedom, challenges the Insta360 Antigravity A1 head on, and does it without forcing US buyers into FAA registration paperwork. DJI knows exactly what it is doing here.

And because it is already in the FCC green zone, availability in the US is not a matter of if, but when.

The Reality Check

Chinese buyers get a bargain. US buyers get the privilege of early access and a lighter wallet. This has been the DJI equation for years, and it is not changing now.

Still, if DJI keeps the base model close to $489, it becomes a serious threat to every competing 360 drone on the market. If the Fly More Combo lands at $999, people will complain loudly and then buy it anyway.

Because that is also part of the DJI equation.

DroneXLโ€™s Take

This leak confirms one thing clearly. The DJI Avata 360 is not vaporware, not delayed, and not stuck behind regulatory doors. It is real, it is priced, and it is coming.

Yes, the US markup stings. Yes, $999 is a psychological gut punch. But DJI is betting that immersive 360 FPV is compelling enough that buyers will swallow hard and click โ€œAdd to Cartโ€ anyway.

History suggests DJI is probably right.

  1. I see the Goggles 3 is mentioned (bottom left). Will Goggles 3 be compatible with the Avata360? There is no mention of the FPV Controller 3 so should we assume itโ€™s not compatible? I would think it (FPV Controller 3) is compatible if the Googles 3 is compatible.

    • Hello Brian. Just as with Neo 2 that came with the (cheap and easy to use) Motion Controller 3, but you can use it with the FPV Controller 3, we hope thatโ€™s the same situation with this drone. And also, remember that the Googles 3 are the latest ones from DJI, so everything points out that yes, we are going to fly the A3 with the Googles 3.

  2. Thanks for your insight Rafael! That is great news!

I already have an Avata 2 with Goggles 3, RC Motion Controller 3, and FPV RC3 so if I end up getting the Avata360 Fly More (FM) bundle, Iโ€™ll have the option to utilize my existing Goggles 3, RC MC3, and FPV RC3 with a new Avata360. The same can be said for the RC2 and RC2 Pro controllers which I have with my Air 3S FM and Mavic 4 Pro FM Creator bundles.

I am really pleased DJI allows for cross utilizing Googles 3 and multiple controllers between multiple DJI drones. This will be a real win-win for DJi and consumers.

  3. How confident are you about the drone being sub-250g? Do you have sources on that? Iโ€™m pretty skeptical that theyโ€™ll shave that much weight off. The Avata was 410g and the Avata 2 was 377g. I thought the sub-250g rumor for the Avata 360 was widely dismissed / discredited.

    • Hello James, as I said in the article, all this info is totally unofficial and we should take it with a grain of salt. As we could see with the Antigravity that fits the sub-250 grams pants, If DJI really want to compete I bet they are going to move earth and water to enter into that category. Will be 250 or 376 grams? The only moment we will know that will be when some testers decide to tell that weight to the world. Meanwhile, as I said, nothing is official, and no, Iโ€™m not confident about the final weight of the drone.

  4. Why do so many people care if its โ€œsub 250gโ€?? It takes $5 and 20 seconds to register a drone, big fricking whoop. I for one prefer a heavier drone if that gives me longer battery life and more structural impact resistance.
