DJI RS5 Gimbal Stabilizer to release on Jan 15 in China only

DJI has posted a teaser for its upcoming camera gimbal, the DJIโ€ฏRS5, slated for release on Januaryโ€ฏ15th 2026, only a few days away. While the U.S. and most other regional DJI sites show no hint of the product, the Chinese site already displays the teaser, suggesting the RS5 will debut in China before rolling out worldwide.

DJI RS5 Gimbal Teaser

The tagline on DJIโ€™s Chinese website, roughly translates to โ€œSteady Positionโ€ giving us a hint that the product being teased is related to a gimbal in one way or another.

The accompanying video takes it a step further, giving us our first official look at the product, without giving us everything.

The first thing we see is red light that expands into a red ring, It then fades surrounding a camera sensor. This matches up nicely with the intelligent tracking module shared in the previous leak.

The intelligent tracking module transitions into a different part of the gimbal, the display and front facing buttons. Once again cross referencing the teaser with the leaked images we can see it matches perfectly.

What to expect from RS5

The DJI RS5 is expected to have over 13 hours of runtime, around a 15% increase over the RS4. It will also fast charge in about 1 hour. The payload capacity is expected to remain the same at 3kg or about 6.6lbs, leaving room for a RS5 Pro to handle the larger cameras.

The RS5 is set to feature a briefcaseโ€‘style handle with builtโ€‘in joystick, buttons, screen, adjustment knobs on every axis and a Zโ€‘axis indicator. It is also expected to have a NATO rail system allowing for accessories to be mounted with ease.

As with all DJI RS gimbals, the RS5 is expected to feature DJIโ€™s top of the line tracking and smart modes, with support for ActiveTrack Pro, even in low light, AI autofocus, and compatibility with DJIโ€™s FocusPro LiDAR module.

How much will this all cost? The RS5 is set to start at around the US$550 mark with more complete packages increasing in price.
