SkyeBrowse, the drone-based 3D modeling platform used by law enforcement and first responders, just shipped a major update that addresses the biggest complaint I hear from public safety drone pilots: inconsistent model quality.
The new “SkyeBrowse Thinking” feature uses AI to automatically detect when a 3D model doesn’t meet quality standards and re-processes it without user intervention. Combined with infrastructure upgrades that make the platform twice as fast, this could change how quickly departments clear crash scenes.
- The Development: SkyeBrowse has launched “SkyeBrowse Thinking,” an AI-driven quality control system that automatically re-processes 3D models if they fail to meet performance standards.
- The Speed Boost: Infrastructure updates deliver 40% faster website performance, 2X faster internal tooling, and support for uploading 10 simultaneous videos.
- Who Gets It: SkyeBrowse Thinking is available by default to Premium Advanced subscribers.

SkyeBrowse Thinking eliminates the manual quality control step
SkyeBrowse Thinking is an automated quality analysis layer that runs in real-time during 3D model processing. When the AI detects a model that doesn’t meet the company’s internal quality thresholds, it automatically triggers a re-processing cycle using optimized parameters. This removes the need for operators to manually review and resubmit footageโa workflow bottleneck that often added 15-30 minutes to scene documentation.
The feature matters most for crash reconstruction teams working under time pressure. State highways don’t stay closed indefinitely. Every minute a scene takes to document is another minute of backed-up traffic, overtime pay, and delayed investigations.
The infrastructure upgrade targets mobile performance
Beyond the AI quality control, SkyeBrowse pushed a significant backend overhaul. The numbers break down like this:
- Website performance: 40% faster
- Internal tooling: 2X speed improvement
- Mobile model loading: “significantly faster” (SkyeBrowse’s words) – Rapid Upload: Now supports 10 simultaneous video uploads for paid users
That mobile improvement matters. Officers frequently review 3D models on tablets at the scene or in courtrooms. Slow loading times undermine credibility when you’re presenting evidence.
2025 was SkyeBrowse’s biggest growth year
The company reports 2025 as its highest volume year for new customer onboarding. CEO Bobby Ouyang attributes this to agencies moving away from “legacy documentation methods”โa polite way of saying total stations and handheld measurements.
The timing makes sense. As more departments face staffing shortages and budget pressures, anything that speeds up crash investigation while maintaining evidentiary standards looks attractive.
In-person training sessions scheduled for Dallas and LA
SkyeBrowse is hosting hands-on training sessions in the Dallas-Fort Worth and Los Angeles areas. Spots are limited. If you’re running a public safety drone program and haven’t evaluated SkyeBrowse yet, this might be worth the trip.
DroneXL’s Take
SkyeBrowse has been quietly building market share in the public safety 3D mapping space while companies like Pix4D and DroneDeploy fight over the enterprise survey market. This “Thinking” feature is smart positioningโit addresses the exact pain point that stops departments from scaling drone programs: the expertise gap.
Not every officer with a Part 107 certificate knows how to capture optimal footage for photogrammetry. SkyeBrowse Thinking essentially lowers that skill floor.
Expect competitors to follow with similar AI quality control features within six months. The automatic re-processing concept isn’t technically novel, but packaging it as a default feature for public safety users is a shrewd move that could accelerate SkyeBrowse’s lead in this niche.
