DJI’s newest addition to its Power lineup is officially going global. The DJI Power 1000 Mini, a more compact, feature-packed portable power station, launches worldwide on April 20, following its China-exclusive debut earlier this year.

DJI Teases the Power 1000 Mini with “Power Beyond Size”

Hot on the heels of its Pocket 4 teaser, DJI dropped a silhouette image with the tagline “Power Beyond Size”, and it lines up perfectly with the DJI Power 1000 Mini already seen from its China launch. The April 20 global release date is now confirmed.

DJI Power 1000 Mini Specs and Features

The Power 1000 Mini’s headline feature is obvious from the name: it’s significantly smaller and lighter than its predecessor. At 11.5 kg (25.35 lb) and 314 × 212 × 216 mm, it undercuts the Power 1000 V2’s 14.2 kg (31.31 lb) frame and 448 × 225 × 230 mm footprint by a noticeable margin.

Up front, you’ll find everything you’d expect from a DJI power station: a telemetry display, standard AC outlets, dual USB-A ports, a USB-C port, DJI’s proprietary SDC port for rapid drone charging, and the main charging input. The SDC port also supports solar panel input and high-power car charging, consistent with previous models.

Two standout additions set the Mini apart:

  • Integrated LED light baar: runs in steady or SOS mode, handy for emergencies or low-light camp setups
  • Built-in retractable 100W USB-C cable: user-replaceable, so a worn-out cord won’t sideline the whole unit

Where DJI Made Compromises

The size reduction comes with trade-offs worth knowing upfront. The Mini carries a 1008Wh battery (vs. 1024Wh on the V2), a maximum output of 1000W with an 800W sustained load (vs. 2600W continuous on the V2), and USB-C output capped at 100W rather than 140W. For most users these limits won’t matter much. For running high-draw appliances or tools, the full-size V2 remains the better call.

DJI Power 1000 Mini Price

Pricing for Western markets hasn’t been officially confirmed yet, but for context: the China launch price sits at ¥2,099 (~US$290), on sale from ¥2,499. The Power 1000 V2 runs ¥2,599 (~US$360) in China, down from a ¥3,499 list price. Expect the global price to land somewhere in that ballpark.

DroneXL’s Take on the Power 1000 Mini

Think of the Power 1000 Mini less as a shrunken Power 1000 and more as a upgraded Power 500, a portable power station with a large capacity in a package that travels well.

For anyone wanting a compact, capable unit camping, charging drones and gear on the go, road trips, or even as backup power for essential home devices, it’s a compelling option at this price point. Keep an eye on April 20 for full global pricing and availability.
