It is one of the best value entries into flying, precisely because it is no longer current. It stays under 250 grams, it is genuinely easy to fly, and it now sells for a fraction of the flagship — which matters if you are not yet sure how much you will use it.
The Pro adds the obstacle sensing and camera capability. If you plan to fly in tighter places or want the better sensor, the Pro earns its premium; for open-space flying and learning, the standard Mini 3 is enough drone.
If the camera is the point of the purchase, save. If flying is the point, the Mini 3 gets you airborne now for much less, and the sub-250g rule treats them identically.
