Skydio 2 production has restarted and shipping resumes
The spreading Coronavirus has impacted many drone manufacturers such as DJI, Autel Robotics, and also Skydio. The latter had stopped the production of the autonomously flying Skydio 2 drone a few months ago. However, today we are happy to report that Skydio has restarted the production of the Skydio 2 drone and the company has started shipping again as there are still many orders to fulfill.
Skydio resumes production of Skydio 2 drone and starts shipping again
The autonomously flying Skydio 2 drone was launched in the fall of 2019. The first batch of the groundbreaking drone almost sold out immediately and shortly after the launch the drone start-up announced that the first three batches were completely sold out well into Q3 of 2020. Many people had reserved their Skydio 2 on the company's website and were eagerly waiting for their aircraft to ship. You can imagine the disappointment among the reservation holders when Skydio announced earlier this year due to the spreading coronavirus the company was forced to stop the production of the drone here in the United States.
Skydio 2s are now shipping and available for purchase again! Plus we are dropping our biggest software update yet! 🚀

As of today, we are happy to report that Skydio has been able to start up their production again and that they also have resumed shipping the Skydio 2 drone. This doesn't mean that if you go ahead and buy one right now, they will ship immediately. You can only place a $100 reservation for a drone as the company still has a significant backlog to work through.
