Drone rescued a 60-year-old duck hunter who clung to his boat for hours
Around 5:15 p.m., a resident near Hesitation Wildlife Management Area in Crow Wing heard somebody yelling for help and contacted the Sheriff’s Office, the Kansas City Star reported.
When deputies reached the area, they could also hear the duck hunter yelling for help; however, they couldn’t see him because of the dense vegetation and terrain.
The deputies fired up the police drone and were able to locate the duck hunter on Rice Lake. The lake is very ‘shallow and swampy’ according to the officials.
The 60-year-old duck hunter had fallen out of his boat. He had been in the water and holding onto the vessel for hours by the time the police officers arrived.
The officer pulled the man out of the water and brought him safely to land, awaiting the arrival of paramedics. The hunter was cold and wet but conscious.
