The three most important upgrades for the new DJI Mini 2 are the fact that this lightweight drone now has 4K video and OcuSync 2.0. The original Mavic Mini had a robust WiFi connection that allowed people to fly the mini drone much further than a Parrot Anafi or Skyydio 2 drone, but the addition of Ocusync 2.0 to the new DJI Mini 2 will mean that you can expect to fly this drone just like the DJI Mavic 2 in terms of range, minus of course the obstacle avoidance.
The DJI Mini 2 features what it seems to be the same remote controller that we know from the DJI Mavic Air 2. The DJI Mini 2 does not have obstacle avoidance or ActiveTrack.
The DJI Mini 2 has a propeller holder to keep the props from turning outward and possibly getting damages when you put the drone in your bag for instance.
The DJI Mini 2 can be recognized by a distinctive silver lining around the lens, the mention of 4K on the lens, the name Mini 2 on the arms, and the orange striping on the propeller tips.
It is also important to point out that DJI seems to have indeed changed the official name to DJI Mini 2 instead of DJI Mavic Mini 2. It is somewhat surprising that DJI made this choice as there officially never was a DJI Mini (1). Furthermore, the Chinese drone maker decided to drop the well-known name Mavic, that people have come to identify with DJI's foldable drones. The Mini 2 is foldable as well. Interesting choice here by the world's largest drone maker.

I see the CE mark on the label. I suppose this means that there is one model for both the US and the EU? Do you think that there is any chance that models sold in the EU would also be labeled with the new CE classifications (C0 or C1)?
Typically the US and EU versions have been different. Mostly with limited range for the EU versions. The last MA2 for instance also didn’t include DJI’s AirSense tech (ADS-B In) at least initially. Not sure if that has changed already. As far as the Mini 2 in concerned, I would expect a more limited range version for the EU version as well. I am not sure about the new CE classifications.
This almost blows the Mavic 2 Zoom to pieces. Granted the Zoom can do a couple of more intelligent flight modes but the Mini 2 matches or exceeds the Zoom camera specs.
Yeah. Future is small drones it seems
Anyone know the 4k bitrate?
Not yet. The old one had 40Mbps. The Pockets have 100Mbps. Hoping that the Mini 2 will have 100Mbps as well.
Rumored to be 4K at 100Mbps
