DJI Mavic 2 Pro falls out of the sky and ‘exploded’
This morning, I came across the following story of a DJI Mavic 2 Pro that fell out of the sky, hit the ground, and then ‘exploded'. As you can see in the photos the fire must have been really intense as there is little left of the actual drone. Please let me know if you have had a similar situation.
DJI Mavic 2 Pro falls out of the sky and ‘exploded'
Dragisa shared the following ‘drone horror' story on the DJI Forum.
Mavic 2 Pro exploded during the operation. On the way back to home suddenly it turned off, a fell from 15-20m on a cliff, then exploded and completely burned. The battery was on 75% and the device was fully operational. There was a problem with connectivity (that is way it tried to reach back home). I put ND filter on it for the first time, yet I guess it had nothing to do with the incident. Any similar experience to share?
It sounds to me as if the battery suddenly disconnected, causing the DJI Mavic 2 Pro to fall out of the sky and ‘explode' upon impact. Like, Dragisa I'm curious to learn if anybody has had any similar experiences flying a DJI drone. I also reached out to Dragisa to see if we can learn anything more from his flight logs.

I just had this happen to me on a jobsite. I am very interested in finding out what actually happened. I’ve heard to batteries falling out and all that but I always double-check that it is fully seated before I fly so I doubt that’s what happened in my case. Either way, no one was injured and the only property damage was the drone itself.
