DJI is notably absent from the CES 2021 exhibitor list
Last year, when CES was still an in-person event in Las Vegas, DJI had a sizeable booth with all their products on display and all the important DJI North America employees, some of whom are no longer with the company, were there as well. This year, during CES 2021 however, DJI is notably absent. What is going on here?
Update: response from DJI employee.
Hat tip: Thanks to Mr. D for pointing this out.
DJI is notably absent from the CES 2021 exhibitor list
Looking at the exhibitor list of this year's CES event, we see many Drone Companies participating in the online0only consumer electrics show. For instance, we see DroneNerds, Skydio, Autel, G-Drone, Draganfly, the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), and even Homeland Security.
The world's largest drone manufacturer, DJI, however, is notably absent from this year's event. We have reached out to DJI and have asked them why they're not participating in what has to be one of the most important shows.
A DJI employee just told us that the drone maker decided “not to exhibit at this year's CES because of the uncertainty around the pandemic as well as the expense of exhibiting there.”
One thing we can conclude is that DJI will not launch the DJI FPV drone at CES 2021. We are trying to get more information on when we can expect this new drone to be launched and we will share that information here on DroneXL as soon as we have a concrete date.
