Stunt with DJI Agras T16 agricultural drone ends badly
The video below, from a Chinese Tiktok user, was circulated on social media last week without any additional context or explanation. You can see how someone clings to an agricultural drone of the DJI Agras T16 type and is lifted over a fence. That first part goes well, but then the drone suddenly becomes unbalanced and crashes mercilessly to the ground.
One could have imagined in advance that the drone would not be able to fly properly with someone hanging underneath. The maximum take-off weight of the device in question roughly 93 pounds. The maximum payload capacity of the Agras T16 is 35 pounds. In that respect, it is a miracle that the device even got off the ground, with the extra weight of a human underneath.
Despite the stunt going wrong, the passenger is fortunately unharmed. But you can imagine that it could have ended very differently. For example, there is a known case of someone who was half decapitated as a result of a collision with the fast-spinning rotor of a model helicopter. The fact that the stuntman in this video gets off without blood loss has mainly been a matter of luck.
