The Federal Aviation Administration’s (FAA) annual National Drone Safety Awareness Week is coming up again. This year it will be happening from September 13-19.

This year every day of the week during the FAA’s National Drone Safety Awareness Week will be dedicated to a specific theme.

  • Monday: Safety flyers take TRUST
  • Tuesday: Register and mark your drone
  • Wednesday: Become part of a flying community (CBOs)
  • Thursday: New rules – Remote ID, Ops Over People
  • Friday: Public Safety & Public Acceptance
  • Weekend: Share the Skies, get out and fly

The FAA had the following to say about the National Drone Safety Awareness Week:

If you are reading this itโ€™s because you are someone who is committed to drone safety. Welcome to this important national conversation! National Drone Safety Awareness Week educates the public about drone safety by highlighting how key sectors of the drone community are engaging with the public and spreading awareness throughout all 50 states on aviation safety topics. It is also an opportunity for drone stakeholders and fyers to kick off new safety initiatives.

What Happens During National Drone Safety Awareness Week

The FAA calls national attention to drone safety during the week of September 13โ€“19, 2021, by promoting YOUR safety stories, successes, events, and educational content. Everyone is welcome to participate in this weeklong campaign. This year, the 2021 campaign combines virtual and in-person events. During the third annual National Drone Safety Awareness Week, current and future drone pilots, as well as the general public, will learn the latest about safe drone operations.

How to Participate

Each day of the week is dedicated to a specific educational theme and the FAA will share related stories and digital content from you using our extensive social media channels.
