DJI Mini 3 specs and capabilities might surprise you. Leaker tells us, “It is real!”
Today, on Twitter the DJI Mini 3 specs were leaked by a long-term source of DJI Rumors and information.
In the tweet, he shows a graphic that is basically an outline of the ‘photoshopped' image we have seen earlier.
To the left, it shows the new DJI remote controller with a built-in display. On the right, we see the actual DJI Mini 3.
The DJI rumor source claims that the DJI Mini 3 is real. And, he offers the following ‘guessed' specs.
We believe that these guessed DJI Mini 3 specs are likely to be very accurate.
The ‘guessed' DJI Mini 3 specs
The DJI Mini 3 comes with O3 video transmission. This yet-to-be-released DJI mini-drone will have two forward-facing sensors to avoid obstacles, but it will also have two backward-facing sensors, offering near 360-degree obstacle avoidance.
The long-time DJI leaker also tells us that:
DJI Mini 3 Spec Guess. 1/1.3″ CMOS, F1.7 large aperture
The gimbal is tilted at a large angle, and you can shoot upwards
Camera supports vertical mode
3 direction obstacle avoidance
Active Track
O3 transmission
New remote control with screen
The camera will feature a 1/1.3 CMOS sensor with an aperture of f/1.7. The camera will not have a 3-axis mechanical gimbal, but will likely use similar digital image stabilization as we have seen in the DJI Action 2 camera to provide stable video footage.
For comparison, the DJI Mini 2 offers a 1/2.3” CMOS sensor with 12 MP photos.
The camera on the DJI Mini 3 is rumored to be able to shoot vertically as well so that photos and videos can be shared on social media platforms such as Instagram.
The rumored DJI Mini 3 specs indicate that the drone will weigh less than 250 grams including the battery. It will likely offer the highest photo and video quality currently available in a sub-250-grams drone.
The DJI Mini 3 drone might come in three different configurations: the DJI Mini Standard, the DJI Mini 3 Fly More Combo with extra batteries and accessories, and the range-topping DJI Mini 3 with additional batteries, accessories, and a ‘mini version' of the DJI RC Pro remote controller with O3 video transmission and a built-in screen.
The addition of ActiveTrack is very nice and will help to make this drone very capable and we expect very popular among both recreational drone fliers as well as professional, Part 107 certified Remote Pilots.
We expect that these DJI rumors will prove to be very accurate and we think that we may see this drone hit the market very soon.
We will be on the lookout for any FCC filings, rumors, and leaked photos coming online over the next days and weeks.

If this is accurate I predict that it will be very popular. I hope the price is reasonable also.
So this is the reason why Mavic 3 isn’t available with RC Pro in reasonable bundle…
Mini gets such display including controller, while very expensive M3 has only dumbmote without even basic telemetry display of remotes of €/$200 clones!
I hope this is accurate, as it’s very close to what I had been hoping the Mini 3 would be, specifically the larger 1/1.3″ sensor. The ability to shoot vertically would be an unexpected but welcome bonus. Who cares what it looks like?
Fingers crossed it won’t be ridiculously expensive!
I wish it will be able to shoot in raw and not only jpg. But DJI will probably keep this functionality to more advanced drones.
Why do you guess it doesnt have a 3-axis gimbal?
Looks very much like one on the pictures for me. Also I havent seen any „leaks“ suggesting it doesnt?
