Skydio firmware update unlocks drone’s features to heat up competition

Earlier today, Skydio released a new Skydio Firmware Update that unlocks new features on the autonomous drone. Will the ‘made-in-the-USA’ be able to heat up the competition with DJI now? Let’s take a closer look.

Redwood-based Skydio released a new firmware update for the Skydio 2+ autonomous drone that increases the unmanned aircraft’s functionality beyond what you would expect.

In a tweet, the US=based drone maker said:

Four new #Skydio skills to help automate your everyday life, save time, and save money. ⏲️💸

The new features are:

• Spring cleaning – Built upon the foundation of 3D Scan, with an optimization for roof and gutter cleaning, this Skill will save you from pulling out the ladder or hiring help this spring.
• Zen mode – Trouble sleeping? There’s nothing more relaxing than the sound of Skydio. Combine this with our patented blue light for a night of truly unmatched REM sleep.
• Dog walker – Program your dog’s favorite routes, and let Skydio handle the rest. Taking care of man’s best friend just got easier, courtesy of your new best friend; Skydio 2+.
• Barber Skill – Cutting your own hair has never been easier. There’s no need to worry about scheduling an expensive hair appointment, Skydio can handle the thickest of manes, autonomously.
