Coordinated Search Efforts Lead to Safe Recovery
In a collaborative search operation that included drones, the Fargo Police Department, with assistance from the North Dakota Highway Patrol and the Red River Regional UAS Team, successfully located a missing 13-year-old boy, Tokala Antonio, on Friday evening.
The Disappearance and Response
The search for Tokala began after the Fargo Police Department received a report around 3 p.m. on Friday, December 29, about the missing teenager.
Tokala, described as 5′9″ tall, weighing 140 lbs., with brown eyes and brown hair, had last been seen in South Fargo at 2:50 p.m. He was reported to be wearing a gray t-shirt, black shorts, and white socks.
The police quickly responded by issuing a call for help on their social media accounts, urging the community to aid in locating the young boy.
Utilizing Advanced Search Techniques
By 5:40 p.m., an intensive search was underway in the Deer Creek area, located on the western edge of Fargo, south of 52nd Avenue South.
The search team employed drones and a K9 Bloodhound to scour the area, demonstrating the effective use of technology and trained animals in search operations, according to KFYRTV.
Successful Outcome with Drones
The Fargo Police Department confirmed at 7 p.m. that Tokala had been found and was safe. While the police did not provide specific details on the exact location where the child was found, they acknowledged that the use of drones and the K9 unit played a crucial role in the successful outcome of this case.
This incident highlights the importance of quick response and the use of diverse search methods in locating missing persons. The collaboration between different law enforcement teams and the integration of advanced technology such as drones significantly contribute to the effectiveness of search and rescue operations.
The Fargo community breathes a sigh of relief as the young boy is safely reunited with his family.
