A shocking turn of events has unfolded in Cranston, Rhode Island, where a man previously caught using a drone for spying has now been charged with child molestation.

Drone Incident Leads to Alarming Discovery
Christopher Jones, 50, initially drew public attention last summer when he was arrested for using a drone to peer into a local woman’s home.
Stephanie Merola, the victim of this privacy invasion, reported seeing the drone outside her bathroom window.
In a bold move, she captured the drone and threw it into her pool, leading to Jones’ arrest on charges of video voyeurism, reports WPRI.
A Deeper Crime Uncovered
While the drone incident was disturbing on its own, it was only the tip of the iceberg. Following this, Jones has been charged with a more heinous crime. The Rhode Island Attorney General, Peter Neronha, announced that Jones is now facing charges of second-degree child molestation. He is accused of sexually assaulting a child under 14 years old between April 2003 and April 2006.

The community has reacted with horror and disbelief to these revelations. Merola, expressing her distress, told 12 News, “I have no peace of mind. I’m disgusted and I feel violated.” This sentiment echoes the shock and unease felt throughout Cranston.
Prosecutors have taken a firm stance in light of these serious allegations. After being released on personal recognizance for the drone-related charges, Jones is now being held without bail for the molestation charge. His next court date is scheduled for March 12.
