DJI Power 2000 and Power 1000 V2 Leaked: Next-Level Charging for Drones and Beyond

Drone enthusiasts have a reason to get excited as DJI prepares to launch the DJI Power 2000 and Power 1000 V2 portable power stations. Leaked images shared with DroneXL reveal these upcoming models, promising significant upgrades for professionals and recreational users alike. With the current DJI Power 1000 already setting a high standard, these new releases could redefine portable power solutions for drone operations and EV support, backed by DJI’s proven expertise in innovative technology.

Enhanced Capacity and Faster Charging

The DJI Power 2000 is expected to double the capacity of the existing Power 1000, which boasts a 1,024 watt-hour (Wh) battery. This leap could provide up to 2,048 Wh, enabling extended use for drone flights and EV charging needs. The Power 1000 V2, meanwhile, hints at faster charging capabilities and the ability to power additional devices, building on the original’s ability to recharge to 80% in 50 minutes using a 1,200W grid connection. For context, the Power 1000 can fully charge in 70 minutes under optimal conditions, a feature that could be enhanced in the V2. These improvements stem from DJI’s focus on high-end battery management systems, ensuring long-lasting performance with minimal degradation.

Benefits for Drone Pilots and EV Users

Drone pilots will appreciate the Power 2000’s potential to support multiple intelligent flight batteries. For instance, the current Power 1000, paired with the DJI Power SDC, fast-charges a Mavic 3 Series battery from 10% to 95% in approximately 32 minutes—about 19 minutes faster than standard charging.

With three batteries, users can enjoy a full day of worry-free flight, as noted in DJI’s official materials. EV owners benefit from the Power 1000’s 220W stable output, 260W 30-second output, and 440W peak output, ideal for powering tools or appliances during road trips. The 1024Wh capacity can charge a mobile phone up to 57 times or run a coffee machine for 55 minutes, showcasing its versatility.

Industry Trends and Implications

DJI’s expansion into high-capacity portable power stations reflects a growing trend toward eco-friendly, off-grid solutions in both the drone and EV sectors. The integration of solar charging options, with support for panels like those from Zignes, aligns with industry shifts toward sustainability. This move could influence regulatory standards, encouraging greener practices on job sites and during outdoor adventures.

Economically, the Power 1000’s current Amazon price of $549 (down from $999) suggests competitive pricing, potentially pressuring rivals to innovate. However, the lack of detailed specs for the new models leaves users awaiting confirmation on weight, size, and exact charging times, which will impact operational feasibility.

The Power 2000 and Power 1000 V2 promise to fuel a new era of aerial content creation and EV support, leveraging DJI’s decade-long expertise in eco-friendly power systems. As details emerge, these power stations could become essential tools for professionals and enthusiasts alike, enhancing mobility and reliability in the field.

  1. I love my Power 1000.. I think the early release and selling it all over Amazon on Black Friday for $299 and $499 forever changed everyone’s expectations of it being $799+.. I’ll be interested in seeing the Power 2000 pricing
