BRINC teases next-gen DFR drone with ‘Command the Night’ reveal set for March 24

BRINC Drones is gearing up to unveil its next-generation Drone as First Responder (DFR) aircraft on March 24, 2026. The company’s teaser campaign, branded “Command the Night,” points to a drone built specifically for low-light and nighttime law enforcement operations.

BRINC CEO and founder Blake Resnick didn’t hold back on LinkedIn: “This is by far the best product BRINC has ever engineered. If I had unlimited resources when I was a teenager first starting this company, it would have been our first product.”

That’s a bold claim from a company that already holds more than 500 active law enforcement contracts and raised $75 million in Series C funding last year.

Teaser images hint at advanced night vision capabilities

The promotional material shows a drone silhouette illuminated by a bright onboard light, along with a close-up of what appears to be a large dome sensor housing. The “Command the Night” tagline and “Illuminate the unknown” messaging strongly suggest improved thermal imaging, enhanced illumination systems, or both. The dome shape visible in the LinkedIn teaser looks like it could house a multi-sensor payload with a significantly wider field of view than BRINC’s current Responder platform.

Night operations have long been a weak point for DFR programs. Standard RGB cameras struggle in darkness, and bolt-on thermal sensors add weight and complexity. A purpose-built night-capable DFR drone would fill a gap that agencies have been working around rather than solving.

BRINC’s DFR footprint continues to grow

BRINC has expanded aggressively across the United States in recent years, securing DFR contracts in cities including Newport Beach, Oceanside, Syracuse, and Lee County, Florida. The company’s valuation now exceeds $400 million.

A next-gen platform could accelerate that growth. Police departments running 24/7 DFR operations need hardware that performs equally well at 2 a.m. as it does at noon. If BRINC has cracked that problem, it widens the gap between them and competitors still relying on modified consumer platforms.

How to watch the March 24 announcement

BRINC will livestream the product reveal on March 24, 2026, at 4:00 p.m. ET / 1:00 p.m. PT. Interested viewers can register for notifications through the company’s website.

DroneXL’s Take

Resnick’s personal enthusiasm is worth noting. Founders don’t usually describe a product as “the one I would have built first” unless it represents a fundamental shift in their product line. Combined with the night-operations branding, this looks like BRINC is moving beyond iterating on the Responder platform and launching something purpose-built from scratch.

The timing matters too. With DFR programs now active in over 1,500 departments nationwide, the market is maturing fast. Agencies are moving past the “should we do DFR?” phase into “which platform handles our toughest calls?” Night capability is exactly the kind of differentiator that wins contracts.

We’ll have full coverage of the March 24 reveal. Stay tuned.
