The DJI Mini 3 with the RC-N1 controller is $269 on Amazon for Prime Big Deal Days, $150 under its $419 list price and level with the lowest price DroneXL has recorded for it. The price is exclusive to Prime members, and the two-day event runs through Wednesday, October 7.
The same listing carries the Mini 3 Fly More Combo with the screen-equipped DJI RC at $600, down from $719. That box adds two more batteries, a charging hub and a shoulder bag. A month ago DroneXL logged the base Mini 3 at $315 for Labor Day, so today’s price is $46 lower.

The $269 Mini 3 Ties Its June Low, While the Fly More Combo Is $119 Off List
Prime members paid $269 for the base Mini 3 during Prime Day in June, and nothing DroneXL has logged has gone lower. The Fly More Combo with DJI RC at $600 is $119 under list and $25 under its Labor Day price. Gizmodo recorded it at $449 on June 30.
DroneXL called $335 the lowest ever on Black Friday 2025, and Amazon has gone under that several times since. Today’s listing is sold by Yeehui Innovations and shipped by Amazon. Dealnews listed the $269 price for Prime members in a June deal that expired on June 28.
The combo costs $331 more than the base kit. The biggest part of that is the DJI RC, whose 5.5-inch screen runs DJI Fly on its own, so your phone stays in your pocket. The middle configuration, the Mini 3 with DJI RC alone, shows only a used unit at $399 today, and DroneXL’s Prime Day roundup had it new at $339 in June. DroneXL checked all three prices at 3:32 p.m. Eastern on October 6.
The Mini 3 Shoots True Vertical Video on Its Full 1/1.3-Inch Sensor
The Mini 3’s gimbal rolls 90 degrees, so it records portrait photos and video on the full 1/1.3-inch sensor instead of cropping a horizontal frame. Video tops out at 4K/30 with HDR, and DJI’s dual native ISO, at 100 and 800, holds detail in highlights and shadows.
A 9:16 clip comes off the card ready for a vertical feed, and the Mini 3 still sells nearly four years after launch because of it. Billy Kyle reviewed the drone for DroneXL in December 2022 and said “vertical video is here to stay at least for the short term.”
DJI Mini 3 Specs: Under 249 g, 38 Minutes, 10 km and No Obstacle Sensors
The Mini 3 weighs under 249 g and flies 38 minutes on a standard battery. DJI O2 transmission reaches 10 km (6.2 miles) under FCC rules. Top speed is 36 mph (16 m/s), and wind resistance is Level 5, or 24 mph (10.7 m/s).
The camera behind the f/1.7, 24 mm-equivalent lens shoots 12-megapixel stills, or 48 megapixels in high-resolution mode, and records at up to 100 Mbps. 2.7K and 1080p run at up to 60 frames per second. Footage goes to a microSD card, and QuickTransfer pulls files to your phone over Wi-Fi at up to 25 MB/s.
The only vision sensors point down, for hovering and landing, so the Mini 3 has no forward or rear obstacle avoidance and no ActiveTrack. Live view runs at 720p/30fps, which Billy Kyle found a little fuzzy next to the 1080p feeds he was used to. The propellers fasten with small screws rather than quick-release mounts.
A Plus Battery Pushes the Mini 3 Past 249 g and Into FAA Registration
On its standard battery the Mini 3 stays under the FAA’s 250 g threshold, so recreational pilots skip registration and Remote ID. The Intelligent Flight Battery Plus raises flight time to 51 minutes and weight to about 290 g, and then the drone must be registered and broadcast Remote ID.
The Fly More Combo ships with three standard batteries, so the catch only applies if you buy the Plus separately. Every recreational pilot still needs the free TRUST certificate, and anyone flying for money needs Part 107 and a registered aircraft at any weight.
The Mini 3 received its FCC equipment authorization in 2022, years before the FCC’s December 22, 2025 Covered List decision blocked new DJI models. That is why Amazon can still sell it.
DroneXL’s Take
The $269 Mini 3 is the camera drone I’d hand a first-time pilot this week, because full-sensor vertical video on a three-axis gimbal doesn’t get cheaper than this. The $600 Fly More Combo makes sense if you fly long sessions and want 114 minutes of rated flight time with a screen controller. Buy it for that kit and not for the strikethrough, since it sold for $151 less in June. And remember this drone can’t see the tree in front of it, so keep it where you can see it yourself.
