Dubai Police, reportedly, are ramping up their patrols and drones over Eid Al Adha to ensure people stay safe during the celebrations. Extra marine units will be patrolling the beached which are expected to be busier than usual this upcoming weekend. An extra 180 traffic patrol units have been added by the Sharjah Police.

Additional police drones and officers will be monitoring people adhering to the social-distancing rules and that all residents are wearing masks at all times. The Dubai Police are mainly focused on prevention but fines are a possibility as well.

“Our officers always start by explaining safety rules to people and talking about the importance of adhering to them,” said Lt Col Ali Al Naqbi, director of Maritime Rescue at Dubai Police, according to DubaiLad. “They even give away masks and gloves for those who are found without ones, and talk to those found gathering in large groups.”

Additional Dubai Police patrols will be organized across the Eid Al Adha weekend on Kite Beach, Al Hamriya Beach, Al Mamzar Beach, Sunset Beach, and Jumeirah Beach.

“Many people are expected to come to these locations and families are likely to bring their caravans. Therefore we will increase beach security, quad bikes, jet skis and cycling patrols and also provide lifeguards and rescuers,” he said.

The drones will also be used to identify residents found repeatedly breaking the rules.

“Fines will only be handed out to those who insist on breaking rules despite warnings and officers' advice,” he said.

DroneXL's take

If Lamborghinis and Ferraris as shown in the photo above are part of the standard equipment for the Dubai Police, I wonder what kind of drone the officers will be flying!
