DJI FPV drone leaked photos on Twitter

We had heard it was coming. We knew it was coming. We had seen some leaked photos and a teaser video from DJI. Well, as of today we can very sure the DJI FPV drone is coming as these leaked photos confirm. Check it out!

DJI FPV drone leaked photos on Twitter

This morning on Twitter, OsitaLV leaked the following two photos of what surely seems to be the new DJI FPV drone.

Looking closer at the photos we see the familiar DJI FPV Goggles that were first introduced as part of the DJI FPV System in the summer of 2019.

Looking at the DJI FPV Combo box we can see the same remote controller that we have seen before in this leaked photo. Also, we see the angled stance of the DJI FPV Drone itself that we have seen in this leaked photo.

Looking closer at the drone on the box, we can also see what seems to be a camera that can tilt up and down. I’m assuming that the camera will be self-correcting based on the forward speed of the drone to make flying and navigating the drone easier for people who are just getting into FPV flying. The drone does not appear to have a traditional gimbal, which makes sense.

Beneath the camera, we see a DJI logo displayed but also two round sensors that could well be obstacle avoidance sensors. Nice!

The drone has traditional FPV props with three blades that appear to be 5 inches. We also see the LED lights on the front legs of the drone.,No legs in the back as the drone rests on two little feet.

Looking at the top of the drone there seems to be a heat sink. The same heat sink ventilation opening is also visible in the photo that shows the DJI FPV Drone in the box, as well as the heat sink that we have seen before at the top and back of the unmanned aircraft.

The arms from the body to the propellers look both aerodynamic and very strong to withstand any impact. The top of the drone is a semi-transparent plastic that might be removable. Around the drone many exposed screws/bolts are visible, indicating that drone pilots might be able to swap parts out and repair the DJI FPV Drone up to a certain extend.

Lastly, the DJI FPV drone seems to come in the same matte black color that we know from the DJI FPV Goggles and not the light grey color we have seen in the leaked photos. Nice!

One more bonus photo of the DJI FPV Drone

Just came across another photo that shows the top again of the new DJI FPV Drone.

OsitaLV speculated in an earlier tweet today that the specs may be as follows:

  • 4K 60 FPS on-board recording
  • 5-inch props
  • 6S battery
  • 3 flight modes with a top speed of 150kph (slightly less than the maximum allowed speed by the FAA of 100 mph).
  • Built-in FPV camera with a remote (or auto?) adjustable title angle
  • GPD for return to home

When will we see the DJI FPV Drone? I think there will be a very good chance we see this little guy well before Christmas this year! Exciting!

Remember this post from Brendan Schulman saying that: “DJI released six new products in the past three weeks. Surely, everyone feels we must be done for the year.”  😉
