Firefighters in Broward County in Florida used a thermal DJI drone to help extinguish a small house fire in West Park at 8 p.m. last Saturday.
Firefighters use thermal DJI drone to help put out house fire
Last Saturday, firefighters in Florida used a thermal DJI drone, a DJI Mavic 2 Enterprise Dual, to help put out a small house fire.
Light smoke was reported coming from the two-story home in West Park at around 8 p.m. when firefighters with the Broward Sheriff’s Office Fire Rescue responded.
The firefighters used a thermal DJI drone to locate the fire, which had started on the roof from earlier repairs.
The Broward Sheriff’s Office Fire Rescue explained that the thermal DJI drone not only helps in locating the fire but is also used to keep tabs on the firefighters’ whereabouts while they are working in dangerous conditions.
NBC 2 said that over 20 firefighters responded to the house Saturday night and no injuries were reported. According to the firefighters, the home was left uninhabitable.
