DJI Mavic 3 – Insider sketch shows first glance of drone
Right after the DJI FPV leaks ended, we started receiving information that DJI is pushing and sending their new DJI AIR 2S to various channels. And while this is certainly exciting News, we are even more excited by the following drawing that was exclusively shared with DroneXL by a DJI insider. The sketch offers a first peek at the upcoming DJI Mavic 3.
Unlike the DJI Air 2S that has been in full production since the end of 2020. Our source said the DJI Mavic 3 has now entered the testing phase so we might be looking at a prototype or early production version here and any adjustments can still be made.
Taking a closer look at the DJI Mavic 3 drawing
When we take a closer look at the provided sketch, we immediately see the resemblance of the DJI Mavic Air 2.
At first glance, we are surprised the upwards infrared sensors have been moved to the front, but the main reason for that is that DJI needs more room for the new battery at the back, where we also find a new type of air inlet to help with the heat dissipation.
A Phantom 4-style battery is said to be clicked inside the back of the DJI Mavic 3. The battery will not be inserted from the top like we are used from the DJI Mavic 2 Pro and Zoom.
When do we expect to see the DJI Mavic 3 drone?
While all previous rumors said the DJI Mavic 3 was scheduled for September. Our insider told us he thinks we might not see a Mavic 3 appearing until 2022.
It seems that in the meantime, DJI will be filling the gap with the DJI AIR 2S. New photo leaks of that drone are expected soon, so stay tuned!

That looks like an interchangeable lens to me (he said hopefully)…
Looks to me as if they might be able to squeeze a micro 4/3 in there.
For me, it really resembles the Zenmuse line from the Inspire series. If this is true definitely seems like it could be interchangeable.
