The rumored DJI Mavic 3 price is significantly higher than the outgoing DJI Mavic 2 Pro. The Mavic 3 comes in three different versions: the Mavic 3, the Mavic 3 Fly More Combo, and the Mavic 3 Cine Premium Combo with rumored prices ranging from 2,150 EUR to 4,800 EUR.

Note: as readers pointed out in the comments, European prices include sales tax or VAT, whereas sales tax is not included in the prices advertised in the US.

Update: DJI Mavic 3 is expected to be released on October 20, 2021.

DJI Mavic 3 price significantly higher than Mavic 2 Pro

Over the weekend, Henrik Olsen from Tech Drone Media posted on social media that the DJI Mavic 3 price may be as high as:

Henrik said that the pricing information was very likely to be accurate and had come from a trusted source, perhaps a dealer or reseller.

Directly converted into USD this would lead to the following prices:

DJI prices more aggressively in the US

However, DJI typically doesn’t convert prices this way. The United States is a more competitive market in general and the world’s largest drone maker tends to price its products more aggressively over here.

We looked at three recent DJI products and compared the pricing between The Netherlands and the US. As you can see below, the prices in the US tend to be the same or even lower. Btw – Switching the DJI website to another EU country resulted in the same prices.

For example:

Possible Mavic 3 prices for the US

So, with the rumored Mavic 3 price from Henrik in mind, where do we think the prices will land for the US market? We think the following prices might be likely.

As of this point in time, we do not have any firm pricing information in hand, and the above-mentioned numbers are purely speculative.

We expect DJI to be more aggressive on price when the actual dollar amount is higher. Hence, we expect the numbers to come in lower for the US.

For the actual pricing to come out we will have to wait until the Mavic 3 release date.

Mavic 3 Cine Premium Combo is more expensive

Furthermore, the Mavic 3 Cine Premium Combo would be considerably more expensive when you keep in mind that it would include the DJI Smart Controller V2.0 with a built-in display, now called the RC Pro as well as a 1TB SSD.

Fyi – DJI’s Smart Controller, the original one, sells for 749 USD in the online DJI store.

Mavic 3 release date

The Mavic 3 release date is rumored to be November 15th. However, with the amount of leaked information that has come out in recent days, we would not be surprised if the Mavic 3 arrives sooner. Look for the FCC filings to become public as a very solid indicator that the new DJI drone will arrive shortly. Another good sign of the Mavic 3 drone imminent arrival would be the Mavic 3 showing up at your local Best Buy store. 😉

What do you think the prices for the three new Mavic 3 drones will be? Do you think these rumored Mavic 3 prices make sense? Let us know your thoughts in the comments below.

  1. Please do your research – the US does not include sales tax in their prices, something that is (thankfully) illegal in the EU.

  2. EU- prices include VAT, US-prices are w/o sales tax. Additionally there is a mandatory 3years warranty in the EU, in the US only 6-12 month. Your lengthy price comparison is a bit worthless..

  3. If they do arrive at that price it will kill off a big part of the European market given the already tight limitations and regulations regarding c class drones
