FAA issues 30-mile Stadium TFR or No-Drone-Zone for Super Bowl LVI in Los Angeles

The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) has issued a 30-mile stadium TFR (Temporary Flight Restriction) or No-Drone-Zone around the SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, California. This means that you will not be allowed to fly your drone within a 30-nautical-mile radius of the stadium up to 18,000 feet in altitude from 2:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. PST on Feb. 13, 2022. And for one nautical mile and up to 3,000 feet in altitude around SoFi Stadium on Feb. 13 from 10 a.m. until the TFR for the game takes effect.
The FAA has gone to great lengths to get this message across to both recreational fliers as well as Part 107 Certified Remote Pilots.
Besides, the agency’s own press release and tweets, the FAA has also reached out to drone news outlets such as DroneXL and joined the PiXL Drone Show for an extra episode that will air this Thursday on the PiXL YouTube Channel.
The FAA wants people to know that the TFR means that you cannot fly a drone within a 30-nautical-mile radius of the stadium up to 18,000 feet in altitude from 2:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. PST on Feb. 13, 2022. So, please do yourself and the entire drone community a favor and don’t fly your drone there and then.
Any person who knowingly and willingly violates these restrictions may be subject to criminal or civil penalties,” says the FAA.
Drones are also prohibited for one nautical mile and up to 3,000 feet in altitude around SoFi Stadium on Feb. 13 from 10 a.m. until the TFR for the game takes effect.

The FAA warns drone pilots that anybody who enters the TFR without permission can face drone confiscation, civil penalties that exceed $30,000, and potential criminal prosecution.
