DJI Mavic 3 Pro Price and Release Date – Latest Leaks and Rumors
Good day, folks! Shawn here from Air Photography. In today’s video, we’re going to be talking about the supposed upcoming DJI Mavic 3 Pro. If you’re not quite aware or haven’t been following the drone news, DJI is allegedly going to be releasing a new drone in the Mavic 3 series, one called the Mavic 3 Pro.
I made a video about two weeks ago going over some limited information and some leaks that we had, but a lot of new stuff has come out over the last couple of weeks, so I thought I’d make an updated video. There’s been some information leaked about pricing and even a possible release date, so we’re going to go over that in this video.

Now, just a couple of things here before I get too far into it. I want to mention that everything I’m going to be discussing is all pure rumor, leaks, and speculation – nothing is confirmed by DJI, so just keep that in mind.
Also, I want to mention that all credit goes to the people who bring us this information on places like Twitter, such as DroneXL, OsitaLV, and DealsDrone. Definitely go over and follow them. Give them some support because without what they’re providing to us, we wouldn’t have this information.
Now, when it comes to DJI releasing a Mavic 3 Pro, I kind of figured that we would be seeing one when they launched the original Mavic 3. It just seemed kind of odd that, you know, we had the Mavic Pro, the Mavic 2 Pro, but then they dropped the “Pro” title and just released the Mavic 3, even though at the time it was one of their top-tier drones.
So it led many to speculate that we would see different iterations of the DJI Mavic 3, and indeed that’s what we have seen. We originally saw the Mavic 3 and the Mavic 3 Cine, then, of course, we got the Mavic 3 Classic, and now it looks like we’re going to be getting a Mavic 3 Pro.
And if we take a look at this photo here, this was leaked after the initial video I made. You can see we get a nice, clear picture of that new camera, and supposedly what that is, is going to be a 50mm lens. I believe, basically, it’s going to be a fixed three-time zoom.
So, you’re going to have your main camera, the Hasselblad camera that’s the workhorse, the seven-time zoom which also is the hybrid that can go up to those high zoom levels, and then we’re going to have a fixed three-time zoom, and supposedly it’s a one-inch sensor. You know, so that’s actually pretty good, and whether they upgrade the sensor, the half-inch sensor for the seven-time zoom, who knows. I guess we’ll know soon enough.
so that is kind of interesting. I initially thought that it might be an ultra-wide camera, but a three-time zoom doesn’t really excite me. However, it will be interesting to see what they do with it, and of course, there could be other Pro features that are included that we just don’t know about yet.
Now, when it comes to the launch, when DJI is going to announce or launch this drone, I’ve heard two dates. The most common one that I’m hearing right now is April 25th, so that’s next week on Tuesday, but I’ve also heard May 9th. Again, take that with a grain of salt.
Right after the video went live, DJI released this teaser announcing the DJI Mavic 3 Pro’s arrival on April 25th.
The April 25th date could be when they’re going to launch a teaser for it, or that’s when they could potentially launch the whole kit. The only thing about that is that we haven’t seen any FCC Filing yet. Now, that doesn’t really mean anything; usually, we do get that quite a bit within a month before a launch, but we have seen it in the past where they launch it that day or even a day or two before.
Also, we haven’t got a teaser from DJI yet. Usually, about a week before they launch a new product, we get a teaser announcing that a new product is coming. So, we should have seen that earlier in the week already if indeed it is being launched on Tuesday. But again, it may just appear in the store like they’ve done with other products as well, so that’ll be interesting to see what happens there.
Now, a lot of other new photos have leaked as well. You can see we’ve got some ND Filters here; that’s going to be the official ND filter set for the Mavic 3. Here, we actually get a screenshot of what the new interface is going to look like, and you can see there we have the one-time zoom, the Hasselblad camera, the new fixed three-time zoom, and of course, the one that was already there, the seven times. It does give more confirmation that that indeed is what that camera is.
Additionally, we got some more box leaks. You can see there, we have Mavic 3 Pro, and there it is again Mavic 3 Pro. With some of the leaked photos, it appears they’ll be selling multiple different versions. We’ll have a version with the DJI IRSC, a version with the RC Pro, and hopefully, one just drone-only. That way, if you already own the RCs and you just want to upgrade the aircraft, you’re able to do so, and hopefully, they do that on launch day as well, and we don’t have to wait months down the road like we typically have to.
We got this photo here again; you can see a good look at it. The aircraft appears to be pretty much identical, and you can see a nice close-up of that camera. Here’s another photo of it, and you can see a good picture of the camera there.
The first thing that stands out is that the camera is massive. A lot of people thought this was fake just due to how big and oversized the camera is, and some people are worried it’s not going to fly well. But I’m sure DJI has done all their testing; they’re not going to release a pro drone like that that doesn’t fly very well.
We also got this picture, which doesn’t really show much, but you can see the drone there. This one was actually just leaked this morning. I don’t know who that guy is, but you can see he’s holding the new Mavic 3 Pro, and again, you can see that camera and just how big it is. It actually sticks out quite a bit farther than the front of the drone, making it a pretty big camera unit.
Now, some other information that we got was from DroneXL. Definitely go and check out his website if you’re a person who loves to read about drone news. Follow Drone XL on Twitter and check out his website. What he shared was kind of interesting.
Apparently, a reseller, Vertigo Drones, had leaked the drone on their website, and it had some pricing. You can see here they have it listed at $3,628. Now, that is, I’m not sure, I think that was with the Fly More Combo and the RC Pro. Having that RC Pro and a Fly More Combo is going to raise the price. From what I’ve been hearing, it’s actually not going to be all that much more than the Mavic 3, so it might be a little bit more affordable than I initially thought.
I was kind of worried it was going to be very expensive because, for me initially, I thought, “Okay, if it’s going to be a pro model, they’re going to include the built-in SSD and the ProRes codec, because it’s a pro model, and that’s going to make it very expensive.” If you buy the current Cine model, you know, in Canada here, it’s well over five thousand dollars, I think it’s about six thousand dollars. So then you add this new camera and some of the new features, you know, it’s going to get very expensive.
But they could end up releasing it like they did the Mavic 3. Perhaps you’re going to have the Mavic 3 Pro and the Mavic 3 Pro Cine, and that way, if you don’t want the Cine features, you’re not paying for them. You can still get a reasonable deal on just the Mavic 3 Pro. Now, again, that’s just speculation. I don’t know what they’re going to do there, but hopefully, that is an option.
I’m still on the fence about whether I’m going to order it or not. I’m thinking, maybe if it’s not too much money, I may sell my Mavic 3 and then upgrade to the Mavic 3 Pro, but again, it’s all going to depend on the pricing.
So, that’s basically it. That’s the latest information. We could see it as early as next week, just from what people are saying. The price isn’t going to be quite as high as what most had been expecting, so that definitely is some positive news if that turns out to be true. Again, remember, everything I just showed you and talked about is just all speculation; it’s rumors and leaks. Don’t take anything as fact.
Well, folks, that’s basically it for this video. Thanks a lot for watching. Hopefully, you got some value out of it, and we’ll see you in the next one.
