Ukraine Reportedly Losing 10,000 Drones Monthly

A recent tweet suggests that alone may lose up to 10,000 drones per month in the conflict with . Brendan Schulman, former Vice President of Policy & Affairs at DJI, retweeted this information, adding a financial perspective. If these flying machines were DJI Mavic 3s, currently observed as the drone of choice in this conflict, the annual spending by Ukraine on drone hardware would hit a dizzying $200 million USD.

Keep in mind that not all the drones Ukraine is using come from DJI or are the specific model. Plus, many of these drones might actually be gifts or donations, so it's important to factor that in when trying to estimate the annual value Ukraine spends on drone hardware.

Hacking a DJI drone to unlock Geo-Fencing

The video didn't stop at the drone count, it went a step further, demonstrating how to hack into a DJI Mavic Air 2 drone to bypass the geo-fencing restrictions imposed while operating a DJI drone in Ukraine.

The precise tally of drones deployed by both Russian and Ukrainian forces remains uncertain. But one fact is evident – drones have ascended to become critical players in this war theatre, leveraged extensively by both sides.

They are, without a doubt, shaping the future of warfare, with their reach going far beyond just reconnaissance missions. This drone warfare spectacle underlines the ongoing transformation of modern conflict, pushing us into an era where reigns supreme.
