Drone Strike Targets Hamas Deputy Chief

Saleh al-Arouri, the deputy chief of Hamas and a key figure in its military wing, was killed in a drone strike in Beirut’s southern suburbs, a Hezbollah stronghold.

Al-Arouri, known for his role in the Qassam Brigades and involvement in a deadly assault on Israeli territory, was targeted during a meeting at a Hamas office near Hezbollah’s headquarters.

The strike, which, according to Reuters, resulted in six casualties, has not been claimed by Israel, although it coincides with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s directive to Mossad to eliminate Hamas leaders globally.
