Community Rallies in Search Efforts
The disappearance of 31-year-old Ashley Turcotte has sparked a massive search operation in Barnstead, New Hampshire. Multiple agencies and volunteers have joined forces and deploy thermal drones and horse to aid in the search.
Turcotte, who has been missing for a week, was last seen wearing dark pants, a long-sleeved shirt, and possibly a black or blue winter coat. She stands five feet, five inches tall and has brown eyes and brown hair, according to The Laconia Daily Sun.
Coordinated Search and Community Support
A significant search effort took place Thursday, focusing on the wooded areas near where Turcotte’s vehicle was discovered in the Town Hall parking lot.
Her backpack and cellphone were found inside the car, but no useful footage was obtained from surveillance cameras.
The search included trained dogs, horse-mounted police from Manchester, drone operators with thermal imaging and night vision capabilities, and personnel from NH Fish and Game and New England K9 Search and Rescue.
Candlelight Vigil: “Light Ashley’s Way Home”
In a show of solidarity and hope, a candlelight event titled “Light Ashley’s Way Home” is planned for Friday, Jan. 12 at 6:30 p.m. in the Barnstead Elementary School parking lot.
The community is encouraged to attend and bring candles, symbolizing their collective hope for Turcotte’s safe return.
Law Enforcement and Family Statements
Chief Paul Poirier emphasized the need for organized search efforts to avoid hindering the professional operations. He also highlighted the community’s concern and eagerness to assist.
Ashley’s brother, Brandon Turcotte, expressed his family’s distress and gratitude for the overwhelming support, urging the public to let trained professionals lead the search.
