Dryad Networks, an innovative German IoT company, has secured €6.3 million ($6.7 million) in fresh funding to revolutionize wildfire management with an autonomous drone system. • Communication: Ground sensors use LoRaWAN, while drones will likely operate on 4G/5G networks

The company’s existing Silvanet technology has already made significant inroads globally, with deployments across approximately 20 countries spanning North America, Europe, Asia, and Australasia. This extensive network provides a strong foundation for integrating the new drone system.

Substantial Financial Backing

The funding breakdown shows strong institutional support:

• €3.8 million ($4.1 million) from the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF)
• €2.5 million ($2.7 million) from climate-tech investor First Imagine!
• Total April financing round: €8.9 million ($9.5 million)
