DJI Osmo Pocket 4: Leaked Dual-Camera Setup Could Transform Ground-Level Content Creation

The upcoming DJI Osmo Pocket 4 appears to feature a groundbreaking dual-camera system, according to prototype images found by DroneXL’s tipster Jasper Ellens. For drone professionals and recreational pilots seeking a portable companion device for ground-level footage, the DJI Pocket 4’s rumored upgrades could offer unprecedented creative possibilities, especially when combined with aerial cinematography.
Dual-Camera Configuration Points to Advanced Depth Sensing
The leaked prototype images reveal a significant departure from the single-lens design of previous Pocket models. As seen in the leaked photo , the DJI Osmo Pocket 4 features two distinctly different camera modules – a larger primary camera and a telelens unit, similar to what we have seen on higher end DJI drones such as the DJI Air 3S.
The photo above shows a good comparison between the DJI Osmo Pocket 4 and the current DJI Osmo Pocket 3. When you look closely at the photo it seems that the gimbal on the Pocket might have incurred some damage as it appears slightly bent.
Professional-Grade Specifications Target Content Creators
Multiple sources indicate the Pocket 4 will inherit advanced technologies from DJI’s drone lineup. Some of the potential features could include:
- 1-inch CMOS sensor (approximately 12MP) with Hasselblad color science (maybe for both cameras?)
- 4K recording at 240fps for ultra-slow-motion capture
- 2.5-inch OLED touchscreen with 800+ nits brightness
- ActiveTrack 7.0 leveraging dual-camera depth data
- 10-bit D-Log M and HDR recording capabilities
The rumored weight increase to approximately 190 grams (6.7 ounces) from the Pocket 3’s 179 grams (6.3 ounces) suggests significant internal hardware upgrades while maintaining pocket portability.
DJI Osmo Pocket 4 Release Date Remains Uncertain
Despite the prototype leaks, no FCC filings or regulatory documents have surfaced for the DJI Osmo Pocket 4. Some industry watchers predict a launch window between late 2026 and early 2027, following DJI’s typical three-year product cycle. However, we suspect that the DJI Osmo Pocket 4 may find its way to the market much sooner.
Pricing expectations range from $599 to $699 for the base model, representing a potential 15-35% increase over the Pocket 3’s original $519 price point.
DroneXL’s Take
For drone pilots accustomed to DJI’s aerial imaging excellence, the Osmo Pocket 4’s dual-camera system raises intriguing possibilities. Could this technology preview future drone camera developments?
Recent DJI releases, including the Mini 5 Pro and Osmo Nano, demonstrate the company’s aggressive push into compact imaging solutions. The Pocket 4’s rumored Hasselblad colorsience particularly interests aerial cinematographers who value color accuracy across their ground and air footage.
