Why is there no US launch?
Not because of regulators, which is what makes this launch different from the drones. The FCC authorized the Osmo 360 II on December 21, 2025, a day before the Covered List cutoff froze new DJI equipment approvals. The paperwork to sell this camera in America is done and sitting in a drawer; DJI simply did not announce a US launch, twice. The beneficiary is Insta360, which timed the X6 launch a day ahead of DJI’s and now competes for American 360-camera buyers essentially unopposed.
What the Osmo 360 II brings
DJI’s spec-sheet case, from the launch documentation: a 1-inch square HDR sensor the company calls an industry first for consumer 360 cameras, native 8K60 video, and 14.5 stops of dynamic range in DJI’s lab measurement against 13.5 for the original Osmo 360. The lenses are hand-swappable in the field with a £35/€39 replacement kit, storage is 105 GB internal, and the battery is rated for 100 minutes of 8K30 with a 22-minute charge to 80%.
