Huawei patents new AI drone control system
Huawei is a large Chinese corporation with a presence in a number of different categories from consumer electronics to telecommunications equipment. Today, we learn that Huawei patented a new drone control system that makes use of artificial intelligence (AI).
Huawei’s patent was published with the following number CN110737212B and is titled ‘UAV Control System and Method.’ The company had applied for the patent in July 2018 even though it was only published this month.
The patent is focused on a control system and method for manipulating the unmanned aircraft. The system suggested in this patent includes a task unit, a first action module, a sensor unit, a first function module, a collaborative computing module, and a first response module, among others, reports Gizmochina.
The news outlet mentions that a few weeks ago they also reported on another drone-related patent from Huawei, titled ‘Unmanned Aerial Vehicle Identification Module and Storage Method.’
Interestingly, another patent filing with the USPTO shows that Apple is working on a high-tech modem for drones, officially called the “EU Modem for Drones with Flight Path and 3D Wireless Environment Signal Quality Information.”
