EHang firefighting drone passes technical examination
Chinese Passenger Drone developer EHang announced this week that its manned EHang firefighting drone, the EH216F AAV, has successfully passed a technical examination by China‘s National Fire-Fighting Equipment Quality Supervision Testing Center (NFFE). The company reports this in a press release.
EHang firefighting drone passes technical examination
The NFFE is a national fire fighting equipment quality research bureau under the Ministry of Emergency Response of China. Its national responsibilities include the development of standards, centralized management and technical guidance for firefighting equipment products, including specialized unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs).
The 216F was officially launched a year ago. The successful research of the EH216F means that it now meets the firefighting UAV standards and requirements of the NFFE, enabling EHang to market the aircraft for firefighting operations both in China and abroad.
In the release, EHang explains the testing process: “The 10-month NFFE technical study included 52 different types of tests, such as flight control functions, hover and return accuracy, high/low altitude flight, electromagnetic compatibility, wind resistance, high adaptability /low temperatures, vibration/shock resistance, radiant heat resistance and smoke performance.”
EHang manned fire drone suited for high-rise buildings
According to EHang, the EH216F AAV is especially suitable for use in high-rise cities: “With significant advantages in autopilot, fast response and cluster management, the EH216F is designed to address pain points in urban high-rise firefighting and is a valuable addition to be added to the existing system and for emergency relief.”
