Renault 4 – R4 for short – was an automobile manufactured by the French automaker Renault between 1961 and 1994. The front-wheel-drive automobile was Renault's response to Citroen's then-wildly popular 2cv. More than 8 million copies were sold in over 100 worldwide. The Renault 4 was also known as the 4L in , which is pronounced by the French as ‘Quatrelle' or ‘Quatre ailes,' which means ‘four wings.'

Nobody could have predicted that the term “four wings” would take on a new meaning in 2021. Renault developed the concept of a flying Renault 4 in partnership with the design firm The Arsenale. This resulted in the Renault AIR4, an electrically driven that can carry two passengers.

The carbon-fiber flying automobile is propelled by four engines and propellers. The vehicle, according to Renault, can attain a cruising speed of roughly 93 km/h at heights of up to 700 meters. The Renault AIR4 is powered by lithium polymer batteries with a capacity of 22,000 mAh. The overall capacity of the battery is 90,000 mAh.
