Earlier this week, the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) approved beyond-visual-line-of-sight (BVLOS) flights of unmanned aircraft across 35 miles of New York’s 50-mile drone corridor.

The Renault AIR4 eVTOL is completely electric and has a cruising speed of 93 km/h. The greatest altitude of the flight is about 700 meters. Renault intends to do flying demonstrations in cities all over the globe, including New York and Miami.
New York City tax collectors are looking to drones to help them increase revenues by using unmanned aircraft to conduct property assessments. Setting up their own pilot certification program is also on the agenda. However, experts point out that a decades-old law prevents drones from being used in the city, even by NYC tax collectors.
