DJI Mini 3 body seen in leaked video. New DJI mini drone expected soon.
This morning, we also got to see the body or framework of what is rumored to be the new DJI Mini 3 drone from the Chinese drone maker.
Leaked videos, photos, and rumors of the yet-to-released DJI Mini 3 are increasing, which seems to indicate that the launch of the new mini drone cannot be far away anymore.
Most industry experts seem to believe that the DJI Mini 3 will be introduced in April this year. We suspect that might indeed be the case.
DJI Mini 3 in more detail
The leaked photo of the DJI Mini 3 seems to have the same body as what is shown here in this video.
Whereas the original DJI Mavic Mini and the DJI Mini 2 shared the same exterior design, the DJI Mini 3 will be markedly different.
It seems to me that in an effort to provide the highest possible photo and video quality, while keeping the mini drone below 250-grams, DJI has gone all out and made sacrifices elsewhere in the design.
The legs swing out in a different way than what we have seen in the previous models.
It also seems that the DJI Mini 3 may have a camera that can tilt upwards and downwards, but that it might not have a stabilized gimbal.
A wide-angle lens in combination with digital stabilization can still provide really smooth video footage as we have seen from DJI, GoPro, and Insta360. So the absence of a 3-axis mechanically stabilized gimbal on a sub-250-gram drone might be a worthy trade-off.
