Drone flights over Giga Berlin banned by Tesla
Tesla has banned drones from flying over its Giga Berlin factory in Germany, leaving drone pilots disappointed, according to a recent report.
Previously, drone pilots have used the unmanned aerial vehicles to record and monitor the progress of construction work on the Tesla factories, including the Berlin and Texas gigafactories.

However, Tesla has now stated that drones can no longer be flown over the factory, although they can still operate outside the factory's perimeter, reports AutoEvolution.
Tesla has said it would permit quarterly flights over the factory but has not given any further details on how it will regulate this.
Tesla's decision to ban drone flights may be related to recent disagreements between the company and German regulators. Tesla was told last week to stop putting up a solar canopy in the Giga Berlin parking lot because it didn't have the proper permission.
The work required the installation of concrete piles in the parking lot, with solar panels attached to them to cover the area. Tesla believes that German authorities discovered the illegal work through the use of drones flying over the site.
While the use of drones by enthusiasts to record construction work at Tesla's factories has become popular, it is not always Legal, particularly in Europe, where drone flights over private property are subject to tighter restrictions than in the US.
Despite Tesla's ban on drone flights over Giga Berlin, flyovers continue unabated over Giga Texas and Giga Shanghai, where Tesla has faced no problems in advancing construction work.
Tesla enthusiasts have been using drones to track the progress of the gigafactories, which produce Tesla's latest vehicles and advanced technologies.
For example, the Giga Berlin plant is where Tesla has built its most advanced paint shop, while the Texas factory is where the Cybertruck is scheduled to begin production.
The use of drones provides a unique perspective for content creators, allowing them to film areas usually off-limits to the public.
In conclusion, while drone flights over private property are subject to regulations, their use has been popular in the Tesla enthusiast community. However, Tesla's recent ban on drone flights over the Giga Berlin has been interpreted by some as a response to recent disputes with German regulators over the construction of solar panels in the factory's parking lot.
While Tesla has said it will permit quarterly drone flights over the factory, details on how this will be regulated have yet to be announced.
