DJI Air 3 Leaked! Dual Cameras, Increased Flight Time and Pricing

A morning filled with excitement in the drone world began with the release of product photos for DJI's unreleased drone, the DJI Air 3. This leak solidified the fact that the launch of this economical alternative to the pricier Mavic 3 is on the horizon. The newly unveiled photos reveal a clear view of the DJI Air 3 and its standout feature, the dual camera system.

WinFuture, a website known for its early DJI releases, was the source of these leaked images.

The rumors that had been circulating about the DJI Air 3 were confirmed with this leak. DJI wasn't just planning to launch the new drone but also two new controllers: the DJI RC 2 equipped with a built-in display and the display-less DJI RC-N2.

The pictures showcased the main selling point of the DJI Air 3 – its dual-camera system. DJI's integration of two sensors in the camera is similar to what we have seen in the more expensive Mavic 3 series. The specs of the cameras are unknown at this point in time.

Notably, though, DJI Air 3 lacks the partnership with Swedish camera Specialist Hasselblad seen in the Mavic 3 models, as evidenced by the missing Hasselblad logo on the Air 3's camera unit.

DJI Air 3 Battery

Another upgrade was visible in the photos: a beefier battery. The DJI Air 3 boasts a battery capacity of 4241mAh, or 62.6 watt-hours, which is a hefty 30% increase from the Air 2 and Air 2S. This enhancement should notably extend the total flight time of the new drone.

Similarly to the DJI Mavic 3 series, the battery of the DJI Air 3 will load from the back and not from the top as was the case with the older DJI Air 2S.

DJI Air 3 Pricing

Despite the speculation, there doesn't seem to be a “drone-only” package for the DJI Air 3. Instead, DJI intends to pair it with one fo two different controllers, the DJI RC 2 or the DJI RC-N2.

Furthermore, they plan to offer various bundles, including a Fly-More-Combo that provides two extra batteries and other add-ons.

Prices for the DJI Air 3 have already surfaced due to an inadvertent listing by Amazon UK. The DJI Air 3 with the RC-N2 controller is tagged at £962 ($1,212 USD).

The DJI Air 3 Fly More Combo with the DJI RC-N2 controller comes in at £1,199 ($1,510 USD), while the same Combo with the RC 2 controller is priced at £1,379 ($1,736 USD).

In conclusion, the DJI Air 3, with its new dual-camera system and enhanced battery life, promises to be a worthy, budget-friendly addition to the drone market.
